FISE, the World Federation of Teacher Unions, an affiliated member of WFTU, supports the struggle of United Auto Workers (UAW), in USA and Unifor, in Canada and sends a solidarity message for the continuation of their action.
We support the decision in favour of strike action that was voted by almost the totality of the workers in both countries demanding a collective agreement to ensure their working rights, to improve pensions, to increase wages, and to secure good, union jobs.
