On Tuesday, 17th of October, an online solidarity meeting for the Palestinian people took place, organised by the International Confederation of Arab Trade Unions (ICATU). The WFTU General Secretary, Pambis Kyritsis, participated in the meeting delivering the militant solidarity greetings on behalf of the Federation.
In his speech, the General Secretary reaffirmed that the WFTU will continue standing in solidarity with Palestine and condemns the new barbaric offensive that has been launched by Israel. He also informed the participants for all the actions WFTU has taken until today in support of the Palestinian struggling people, as well as for the ongoing campaign with the slogan:
- SOLIDARITY WITH THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE
- NO TO IMPERIALIST HYPOCRISY
- A JUST AND PEACEFUL SOLUTION TO THE PALESTINIAN CAUSE
As the General Secretary stated:
“Our support to the suffering but struggling people of Palestine, is not a temporary spark. The WFTU had always been standing consistently and principled beside the struggle of the Palestinian people. We realise, though, that today the need for international solidarity might be more needed and urgent than ever. So, we announce that all the actions mentioned, are only our first global reaction. Hopefully not needed, but we express the readiness to strengthen even more the solidarity wave in support of Palestine!”
