Neo Trend Textile Insurgents Together with Uzel Machinery Insurgents
Continuing to Resolutely Own Their Struggles
Uzel Machinery Workers, whose compensation rights have been usurped by the Money Fathers and who have been fighting against the Money Fathers and Yellow Unionism for 15 years, came together in the Uzel Resistance Area on October 17, just like every Sunday. On the 771st day in the resistance tent, we carried out an action to once again express the rightful demands of the Uzel Machine Workers. In addition to the Uzel Machinery Workers, our Chairman Ali Rıza Küçükosmanoğlu, our union managers and the Neo Trend Textile Workers, who have been fighting for more than a year under the leadership of our union, participated in the action.
Suat Bektaş made a speech in our action, which started with slogans. In his speech, Bektaş shared information about the stage of the ongoing resistance led by our union.
After Bektaş’s speech, our Chairman Ali Rıza Küçükosmanoğlu took the floor. He started his speech by saluting Uzel Makina and Neo Trend Textile Workers, who continue their resolute resistance under the leadership of our union.
Küçükosmaoğlu stated that it was understood that the struggle of the Uzel Machine Workers was going towards victory in monetary terms, and that negotiations were continuing on how this money would be distributed to the workers. He emphasized that the tent of resistance will be lifted after the Resistance Workers receive their dues in full.
In his speech, Küçükosmanoğlu said that he commemorated with mercy and respect the 41 miners who lost their lives in the work murder that took place in the Bartın Amasra coal mine on October 14, 2022, which cost the lives of dozens of miners, and emphasized that the yellow unionism was among those responsible for the murder.
In a report prepared by the Court of Accounts in 2019, Küçükosmanoğlu stated that although the risk of explosion increased as the depth of production decreased to 300 meters, no precautions were taken in Bartın/Amasra, coal was continued to be extracted, and that the mining disaster in Amasra was not an accident but a work murder.
Küçükosmanoğlu, who drew attention to the ongoing struggle of the Neo Trend Textile Resistanceists led by our union, ended his speech by expressing that this struggle and all other ongoing struggles will definitely win.
After Küçükosmanoğlu, Cihan Kaya took the floor on behalf of Neo Trend Textile Resistance. Kaya talked about the need for workers to be conscious and the importance of solidarity and unity, and concluded his speech by saying “Long Live the Workers’ Struggle”.
During the action, slogans such as “Workers’ Union Will Defeat Capital”, “Down with Yellow Unionism”, “We will win by resisting”, “We are workers, we are right, we will win” were chanted. 17.10.2022
