TO THE PRESS AND THE PUBLIC
Uzel Machinery Workers, whose compensation rights have been usurped by the Money Fathers and who have been fighting against the Money Fathers and Yellow Unionism for 15 years, came together in the Uzel Resistance Field on 09 October, as every Sunday. On the 764th day in the resistance tent, we carried out an action to once again express the rightful demands of the Uzel Machine Workers. In addition to the Uzel Machinery Workers, our Chairman Ali Rıza Küçükosmanoğlu, our union managers and the Neo Trend Textile Workers, who have been fighting for more than a year under the leadership of our union, participated in the action.
Suat Bektaş made a speech in our action, which started with slogans. In his speech, Bektaş shared information about the stage of the ongoing resistance led by our union.
After Bektaş’s speech, our Chairman Ali Rıza Küçükosmanoğlu took the floor. Küçükosmanoğlu, who started his speech by greeting the Uzel Makina and Neo Trend Textile Workers, who continue their resolute resistance under the leadership of our union, stated that this ongoing struggle disturbs the bosses, the politicians who cooperate with them and the yellow unionists.
Stating that the Uzel Machinery Resistance can no longer be ignored, Küçükosmanoğlu added that the workers will definitely get their receivables in 2013, that this is not enough, and that they are struggling to eliminate the grievances of the workers due to the increasing cost of living and inflation. Küçükosmanoğlu stated that the Uzel Makina resistance continues to set an example for the Turkish Working Class.
In his speech, Küçükosmanoğlu said that we respectfully commemorate Ernesto Che Guevara, who was murdered by CIA Agents in Bolivia 55 years ago, and that Che will always live on in the struggle of the Working Class against Imperialism.
Küçükosmanoğlu stated that he commemorated the leader of the Turkish Working Class struggle, Hikmet Kıvılcımlı, whom we will commemorate on the 51st anniversary of his death on Tuesday, October 11th, with respect and affection, reminding him of the saying “It is better to die than to be afraid to express his love for the country”.
Küçükosmanoğlu, who drew attention to the ongoing struggle of the Neo Trend Textile Resistanceists led by our union, ended his speech by expressing that this struggle and all other ongoing struggles will definitely win.
After Küçükosmanoğlu, Çetin Karakuş took the floor on behalf of Neo Trend Textile Resistance. Talking about the importance of solidarity and unity, and the need for workers to be conscious, Karakuş ended his speech by saying “Long Live the Workers’ Struggle”.
During the action, slogans such as “Workers’ Union Will Defeat Capital”, “Down with Yellow Unionism”, “We will win by resisting”, “We are workers, we are right, we will win” were chanted.
