The WFTU on the 107th Anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution

The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) honors the 107th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution.

One hundred and seven years ago, the world witnessed a seismic shift that forever altered the course of human history. The October Revolution, led by the courageous and visionary leaders of the working class, brought forth a new dawn for the oppressed and downtrodden. It was a resounding call for equality, an end to exploitation, and the empowerment of workers. It also laid the foundations for the creation of the world’s first workers’ state.

The Great October Socialist Revolution and its achievements changed the global correlation of forces in favor of workers and peoples. It proved that the organized struggle of the people can achieve victories that seem impossible.

The principles of the October Revolution remain as relevant as ever in today’s situation. In a period when the economic crises of capitalism succeed one another, when global antagonisms are intensifying and imperialist wars and interventions are continuing and escalating, it is clear that only the emancipation of the working class consists a hope for humanity.

The international class-oriented trade union movement remains steadfast in its struggle for the satisfaction of the workers’ contemporary needs, ensuring workers’ rights, social justice, education, healthcare, and peace. We continue tirelessly struggling to build a world free of exploitation, where workers are liberated from wage slavery and the cycles of poverty enforced by capitalism, a world free of imperialist wars and conflicts that spread chaos, destruction, and death.
