The second side-event of the World Federation of Trade Unions, in the framework of the 111th ILC, successfully took place on June 13th, 2023 under the title: The current priorities of the Labour movement and the role of the ILO.
The WFTU president, Mike Mzwandile Makwayiba, open the discussion with his introductory remarks, and the WFTU honorary president, Geroge Mavrikos addressed the meeting delivering the keynote speech. In his intervention, the WFTU honorary president analyzed the general developments that are taking place in the last decades and focused on the contemporary situation and correlation of balance within the ILO, and underlined the tasks of the WFTU as well as the priorities and goals of the working class.
The discussion concluded after a very rich and constructive discussion focused on the improvement and strengthening of WFTU interventions and the militant struggles of the international class-oriented trade union movement.
