The World Federation of Trade Unions, representing 105 million workers from 133 countries of the 5 continents, expresses its undivided solidarity with the big protest called by FNIC which will take place on Wednesday 8 January, in the city of Pau, demanding the withdrawal of the dismissal and an end to the persecution of trade union action and in solidarity with comrade Timothee Esprit who was fired because he expressed solidarity with Palestine.

WFTU Young Workers’ Committee we express our solidarity with Comrade Timothee Esprit of FNIC CGT who was fired because he expressed solidarity with Palestine.
This is a clear attack against trade union action, the workers’ right to express solidarity with the peoples’ who suffer the oppression and attacks of imperialism.
Governments and employers try to prevent the workers and the militant unions from expressing their opposition to imperialist wars and interventions, they want to silence people’s solidarity with Palestine.
They use media, propaganda, slander but also brutal repression, because they know that the only force that can put obstacles in their plans is the working class and our struggle.
Youth all over the world have made great struggles against the war plans of their states and the imperialists unions and even more are coming to the fore. We declare that we are not going to compromise with this policy, which for the profits of the few generates poverty, wars, refugees.
We strengthen our solidarity with all people who are facing the results of this policy. With all those who are struggling against this policy and face representation and intimidation!
