CYPRUS: Massive Protest in the Three-Hour Strike

The three-hour work strike organized today by the Pancyprian Federation of Labour PEO in cooperation with the other trade unions of Cyprus was crowned with great success.

Thousands of workers participated in the three-hour strike across Cyprus while many of them were transported massively from the workplace by bus.

In the capital Nicosia there was a rally in front of the Ministry of Finance with short speeches by the leaders of the organizations and then a march to the Ministry of Labor where a memorandum was delivered.

The Trade Union movement of Cyprus united, the workers in the public, semi-government and private sectors sent a strong message that they reject the position of the employers to abolish the mechanism of automatic indexation of wages and affirmed the will to continue the struggle for its full return to 100% and its expansion to cover all workers.

At the same time, they sent a message of struggle against the attacks of employers on the rights and achievements of workers.
