“Solidarity – Reunification – Social Justice”
PEO honors Labour Day again this year with events in all cities and a joint celebration with the Turkish Cypriot trade unions.
This year’s Labour Day 2023 is celebrated under the slogan “Solidarity – Reunification – Social Justice”.
As part of the celebrations, hundreds of assemblies will be held in places of work and places of residence, in municipalities and communities.
The main event in Nicosia will culminate in a joint celebration with the Turkish Cypriot progressive trade unions at the stadium in the buffer zone (Ledra Palace).
Detailed program of May Day events in all cities on Monday 1the May 2023:
PEO Nicosia (main event)
– 5:30 p.m. Gathering at Eleftherias Square.
– Speech by G.G. PEO, Sotiroulla Charalambous.
– Address by SECRETARY GENERAL KE AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou.
– Course and unification with the course of the Turkish Cypriot Trade Unions in the stadium of the buffer zone (Ledra Palace).
– Concert with a Bicommunal Group entitled “Rock for Peace – Solidarity, Reunification, Social Justice”.
PEO Limassol:
– 10:00 a.m. Pre-meeting at PEO Limassol building.
– 10.30 a.m. March to Enaerios Square.
– 11:00 a.m. Speech by the EG PEO Limassol Maria Syngeri.
– Artistic Program.
PEO Larnaca:
– 09.30 a.m. Gathering at the PEO Larnaca building.
– 10.30 March to Finikoudes Square.
– 11.30 Speech by E.G. PEO Larnaca, George Ioulianos.

PEO Paphos:
