Jakarta, Feb 6th – More than 400 delegations from various sectors and regions throuhout Indonesia gathered on The 6th National Congress of KASBI that was held on 3rd to 5th February 2023 in Tangerang. The 6th National Congress also attended by many observers from abroad and other sectors such as peasant and student.
In the democratic process for all sessions, there were a rich and productive discussions and debates in order to sharpening the role and strategy of KASBI and workers movement to outcome challenges we face today and in the future.
On his online intervention, comrade Pambis Kyritsis, General Secretary of WFTU, emphasized the role of workers movement in the era of pandemic, economic crisis and war. International solidarity play important role in the struggle against barbaric exploitation of capitalism.
For organization leadership of KASBI, comrade Sunarno elected as Chairperson and Andi Kritiantono as General Secretary. For National Workers Assemby of KASBI, Nining Elitos elected as Chair, Abdul Rosyid elected as S eceretary and Rahmat Syahputra as Financial Committee.
The 6th National Congress of KASBI ended with conclusion that KASBI should buikd progressive political power alongside with the people movement from multisectors to fight against capitalism.
In the end of Congress, a lot of optimism and enthusiasm from all delegations to work together to ensure more prominent role of KASBI in workers movement in national and international level to create equal, just and prosperous world for all people.
