We commemorate this year 1 September, the International Day of Action of Trade Unions for Peace.
In memory of Nazi Germany’s attack on humanity in 1939 and the millions of victims of Nazism and fascism, September 1 has been established by the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) as a day of action by trade unions for peace.
PEO together with the Turkish Cypriot member unions in WFTU, DEV-IS, KTOS, KTOEOS, KTAMS, BES, KOOP-SEN, DAU-SEN and the Bicommunal Peace Initiative “United Cyprus”, which unites dozens of organizations throughout Cyprus, will honor this important day again this year.
Program:
Friday 1st September
– 18:45 Gathering at Eleftherias Square and march to Ledra Palace
– 19:30 Gathering at the buffer zone stadium next to Ledra Palace. Joint meeting and reading of a joint declaration.
– Music Program with the Bi-communal Group “Cyprus Song Association – KIBHAD”.
