SB alongside Total energie and Exxon Mobil workers organised with the FNIC CGT on strike for over a week.

The struggle of the Total Energie and Exxon mobil plant workers that has been going on for days is creating major supply difficulties in France. The main demand of the striking workers is a 10% wage increase, retroactive from January, and the taxation of the oil companies’ extra profits. Total made 11 billion extra profits in the first six months and 18 billion in the second half of 2022 alone.

The long queues at petrol stations, the French government’s appeal to the companies to accept the wage increase demand at the centre of the long strike say a lot about the strength of a compact and determined strike. USB strongly supports the struggle of the workers organised in the FNIC CGT.
