The session began with the presentation of a video clip, highlighting the solidarity action of the WFTU members from all over the world showing their support for the people of Palestine.
The session continued with an intervention by the WFTU President, comrade Mzwandile Makwayiba, reaffirming on the support and solidarity of the WFTU with the Palestinian people, reiterating on the historic stance of the WFTU next to the Palestinian people in their struggle against occupation.
During the session, the Presidential Council members from Palestine, Comrade Mohammad Blaidi and comrade Suzan Tayseer addressed the meeting. In their interventions, the comrades informed the members of the Presidential Council on the situation in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, they highlighted as well the condition of the working class in light of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
The session ended with the unanimous adoption of the Solidarity Resolution for the Struggling People of Palestine, launching the WFTU International Solidarity Campaign with the Palestinian people on the 29th of March 2024, the Palestinian Land Day, continuing throughout the month of April.
